Located in the heart of West Bloomfield, Michigan, right off Maple near Drake Road, the Meer and Hechtman Independent Living facilities are a short distance from restaurants, parks, and more. With the nearest golf club less than 10 minutes away and beautiful parks nearby, our residents experience the best the area has to offer. Volunteers play a vital role in enriching life on our West Bloomfield campus, bringing warmth, companionship, and engaging activities that foster a strong sense of community.

Open Positions In West Bloomfield

  • Flower Arranging: Mondays at 2:00 PM (1 volunteer needed)
  • Art Class: Thursdays at 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM (1 volunteer needed)
  • Memory Care Activities: Flexible schedule
  • Memory Care - Walking: Mon-Fri, 2:00 - 4:00 PM (Multiple volunteers needed)
  • Tea Time: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri at 3:00 PM (1 volunteer needed)
  • Sharon's Boutique: Tue & Fri, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (1-2 volunteers needed)
  • Friendly Visitors: Flexible schedule
  • Knitting: Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:30 PM (1 volunteer needed)
  • Walking Club: Flexible schedule (2-3 volunteers needed)
  • Trivia: Mon & Thu, 3:30 - 4:30 PM (1 volunteer per session)
  • Kabbalat Shabbat Service: Fridays at 4:30 PM (1-2 volunteers needed)
  • Bingo with Memory Care Residents: Mon, Wed, Thu at 3:30 PM (1-2 volunteers needed)

  • Dining Room: Mon-Fri, 4:30 - 5:45 PM (3-4 volunteers per day)
  • Sunday Volunteers: Sundays at 1:00 or 2:00 PM (2 volunteers needed)
  • Beading: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

  • Friendly Visitors: Flexible schedule
  • Art Class Teacher: Once or twice a month (1-2 volunteers needed)
