Our Mission

It is our responsibility. It is our tradition. It is our privilege.

More than 118 years ago, our Jewish community made a commitment to its older adults – to provide dignity, respect and care for them as they age. Your generosity continues to keep this promise and provide older adults with the resources, support and assistance they need to live healthy, joyous and purposeful lives.

Jewish Senior Life nurtures a sense of community and enriches the lives of older adults, by embracing Jewish values and celebrating life.

About Us

Jewish Senior Life is a warm and inclusive community where older adults build friendships, stay active, and embrace life. We celebrate life.

Our history

Deeply rooted in Detroit and Metropolitan Detroit, Jewish Senior Life – originally founded as “Jewish Old Folks Home” – has always remained true to its dedication to older adults, and the dignity of those whom it serves. This rich history of caring for its Jewish mothers and fathers continued through the decades, with outstanding programs and services delivered with the highest level of care.
