Join us for a heartwarming tradition honoring our community’s most cherished elders! The Bessie Spector Oldest Jewish Americans Celebration is an annual gathering for those 95 and older, bringing together friends, family, and generations of community members for a joyful afternoon filled with delicious food, entertainment, and special recognition for our honorees.
In 2024, we rolled out the red carpet for over 300 guests, including 80 honorees aged 95+, with a dozen centenarians! Sponsored in loving memory of Bessie Spector, this cherished event is made possible by Jewish Family Service, the JCC of Metropolitan Detroit, the Jewish Federation, and Gesher Human Services.
The 2025 celebration, led by co-chairs Joyce Berlin Weingarten and Heather Salesin, will take place at Adat Shalom Synagogue on Friday, June 13. We welcome volunteers to help make this event truly special!
To register an honoree or lend a hand, contact Beth Robinson at brobinson@jslmi.org or 248-592-5062.
